Frequently asked questions

What homeowners ask us most about choosing an interior style.

What interior design styles does Luxior offer?
We design across a wide range: modern contemporary, Scandinavian, Japandi, minimalist, industrial, resort/tropical, and classic luxury among them. More important than the label is tailoring the style to your home, your lifestyle and Singapore's climate.
How do I choose the right style for my home?
Start with how you live, not a mood board. We consider your daily routines, storage needs, natural light, unit layout and budget, then match a style that fits. A good style choice makes a space feel larger and calmer, not just on-trend.
Which styles work best in compact HDB flats?
Light, pared-back styles like Scandinavian, Japandi and minimalist tend to suit compact flats: they use light tones, clean lines and integrated storage to make small footprints feel more open and less cluttered.
Can I mix two styles?
Yes, and many of the best homes do. A blend such as Japandi (Japanese plus Scandinavian) shows how two styles can merge cleanly. The key is a consistent palette and material language so the mix reads as intentional, not accidental.
Which styles suit condos versus landed homes?
Condos often favour modern contemporary or resort-style looks that make the most of ceiling height and views, while landed homes can carry classic, luxury or bolder architectural statements across larger volumes. We design to the property's scale and geometry.
Should I choose a trendy style or a timeless one?
We usually anchor a home in a timeless base: layout, built-in carpentry and finishes you'll live with for a decade, and let trends live in the easily-changed layers like paint, textiles and decor. That protects your biggest spend from going out of date.
Does my style choice affect the renovation cost?
Yes. Style drives material selection, carpentry detailing and finishing complexity, which are major cost levers. A minimalist scheme and a heavily detailed classic scheme can differ significantly in price for the same floor area. We'll show the cost implications as we design.
How does Singapore's climate influence style choices?
A style only works if its materials survive 80% humidity and year-round heat. We adapt finishes accordingly: moisture-resistant boards, appropriate timber tones and durable surfaces, so your chosen look still holds up in year five. Style and material are chosen together.
